Hawa's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 39 year old Hawa from Wilberforce branch. She is married with four children between the ages of 2 and 20 years old. Three of her children are attending school. She also has two relatives who depend on her. She started this business to support her family.

Hawa runs a retail business and sells food, fast food, and other assorted items. She has been in this business for the past 6 years. Her other source of income comes from her husband’s salary. Her main challenge is slow sales, sometimes during this COVID19

She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase rice, palm oil, oil, maggi, pepper, fish, onions, plantain, flour, and other assorted items to increase her business. Hawa says that the extra income from this loan will help to improve her business and take care of her family. In the future, she would like to establish a larger scale business. She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.
