Thembeka Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase the ACE-1 hybrid energy system for cooking, lighting and charging in a way that is safer, cleaner and saves money.

Thembeka Group's story

Makhahliso is a 47-year-old woman who lives in a two-bedroom house with four other family members (including three children), without access to electricity.

Makhahliso relies on family support and struggles with buying multiple fuels and insufficient income. Most of her energy expenses go to the purchase of gas and paraffin, which cost up to LSL510 per month. She also spends as much as an hour a day gathering fuel and fulfilling other energy needs like phone charging.

Makhahliso and the other member of the group in this village each bought the ACE 1 cookstove to help them save the money they spend every month on fuel and also help them access solar electricity for charging their mobile devices any time for free. The ACE 1 clean cook stove is biomass- and solar-powered.
