Manteneh's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 42 years-old Manteneh from Wilberforce branch. She is married with four children between the ages of 14 and 24 years, two of whom are attending school. She is also a caretaker for two of her relatives who stays with her.

Manteneh runs a retail business and sells provisions; milk, sugar, rice and other assorted item. She has been in this business for the past 7 years. Her other source of income come from her husband’s salary. Her main challenge is slow sales sometimes during this COVID19.

She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase provisions such as milk, sugar, cocoa, Ovaltine, mayonnaise, rice and, other assorted items to increase her business. Manteneh says that the extra income from this loan will help to improve her business and take care of her family.
In the future, she would like to establish in to a larger scale. She says thanks to Brac and Kiva for their support.
