Sylvia's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more reams of paper, glue, and pens to sell.

Sylvia's story

Sylvia is 32 years old and she lives in the town of Kumi, in the Soroti region of Uganda. She is married and she has 5 children, 3 of whom are currently in school.

For the past 8 years, Sylvia has been working hard to manage her stationery business, which sells books, pens, reams of paper, and does photocopy services.

To help expand her business, Sylvia requested a loan of UGX 4,500,000 from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more reams of paper, glue, and pens to sell, and will help Sylvia to generate greater profits and pay school fees for her children.

Sylvia hopes that, in the future, she will be able to own a shop selling electronics.

Sylvia is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Sylvia, who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have become too large for microloans.
