Tonuhia's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to buy mulberry and other materials such as clay and mangrove liquid for her business of tapa making.
Tonuhia is a 39-year-old mother of nine children. They live at their own home, and her husband is a carpenter. Tonuhia runs a business of tapa making, and she is a member of a tapa group of women in their village. Once every week they make tapas together and Tonuhia self designs her tapas before she sells it out. Customers always have different preference. Not only can she sell out designed tapas, but she also has stock of non-designing tapas which are mainly bought by some customers. In our traditions, non-design tapas are used as the inner-clothes for the dead before they are buried. There must be a non-design tapa to wrap around the body. She makes this sort of tapas and makes stock for more sales. She applies for a loan to buy mulberry and other materials such as clay and mangrove liquids for designing her tapas. Her dream is to build a bigger house for her family especially as there are so many of them and they are growing up.
