Ackquanetta's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped a black woman owned business create employment, community, and inventory to sustain our business.

Ackquanetta's story

Faye's was created while I was college student who attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. Being in a small town and attending a predominately white university was tough for my hair. I was two hours from the nearest beauty supply store that sold products for my "black girl hair". Frustrated with the amount of black students on campus and the lack of access to haircare products and accessories, I decided that I would open a beauty supply store. This store represents everything I needed. Faye's Beauty Supply is named after my maternal grandmother Edna Faye who passed away November 11, 2017. The bond we shared could not be broken, so it was only right that when coming up with a name for my business I honor my late grandmother. This black owned beauty supply store will work hard to give back to the community and provide a space for those with ethnic hair to purchase haircare, styling tools, wigs, and weaves more comfortably than ever before.
