Yaritza Jamileth's story

Yaritza Jamileth is 20 years old. She is in a relationship, has a 3-year-old child, and she is 4 months pregnant. Her partner is currently without work. They live in Portoviejo, a city that was affected by the earthquake on the 16th of April, 2016, and now by the Covid-19 pandemic. The city is rich in the production of vegetables, legumes and tropical fruit for domestic consumption.

Yaritza Jamileth works selling Avon, Yanbal, Belcorp (Ibel, cyzone, esika) catalog products--beauty products, cosmetics, perfumes and women's accessories. She works three days a week, two or three hours a day. She leaves the items on credit and collects weekly.

During this world crisis, she has had economic difficulties. Her customers could not pay her since they were left without employment, and others died. At first, the health crisis was very bad for her, since she could not go out selling, but now, little by little, things are starting up again, and so she can continue to generate an income.

With this new loan, Yaritza Jamileth will buy orders of perfume, creams, costume jewelry, make-up etc. Her dream is to have her own home and that her family has good health.
