Betty Marlene's story

Betty Marlene is 55 years old, married, and has 4 children, of whom 3 are adults and one is a minor, 17 years old who goes to school. Her spouse is a security guard. They live in their own house. They live in Portoviejo, which was affected by the earthquake of April 16, 2016 and now by the COVID-19 pandemic. The city is rich in the production of vegetables, legumes, and tropical fruits for domestic consumption.

Betty Marlene works making lunches and small meals in her house. Her customers ask her ahead of time to make what they want from a varied menu and if they want small meals, she sends these to the homes where her customers ask for them, with the help of her children. She works every day.

At first the health crisis was very bad for her since she could no longer sell but now, little by little, she is reactivating it so to be able to continue generating her income. With this new loan, she will purchase groceries, containers, and bags to make home deliveries. Her dream is to have a large restaurant and that her family is very healthy.
