Leo Denis's story

Leo Denis is 42 years old and lives in the town of Dokolo in the Soroti region of Uganda. He is married and has 7 children with 6 of them currently in school. For the past 10 years, Leo Denis has been working hard to manage his printing and stationary services business.

To help expand his business, Leo Denis has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more papers for the printing, glueing and exercising of books and will help Leo Denis to generate greater profits and to pay school fees for his children. Leo Denis hopes that in the future he will be able to expand the business to offer more secretarial services.

Leo Denis is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Leo Denis who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
