Isha's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone!

This is 52 year old Isha from Wilberforce branch. She is married with six children between the ages of 20 and 38 years old and one of them is going to school. She started this business to care for her family welfare.

Isha runs a retail business and sells provisions, milk, sugar, eggs, cocoa, bread, drinks and other assorted items. She has been in this business for the past 15 years. Her other source of income comes from her husband’s salary. Her main challenge is slow sales during this raining season.

She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase provisions, bread, drinks, milk, sugar, cocoa, eggs, sardines and other assorted items to increase her business.

Isha says that the extra income from this loan will not only help to improve her business but also help in taking care of her family welfare, education and her home. In the future, she would like to have a bigger business.

She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.
