Patrick's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase iron sheets, cement, and other items for resale.

Patrick's story

Patrick is 52 years old and lives in the town of Soroti in the Soroti region of Uganda. He is married and has 11 children, with seven of them currently in school. For the past year, Patrick has been working hard to manage his hardware shop which sells hardware items.

To help expand his business, Patrick has requested a loan of 1,500,000 Ugandan shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase iron sheets, cement, and other items for resale, and will help Patrick to generate greater profits and to pay school fees for his children. Patrick hopes that, in the future, he will be able to buy a car to support the business with the supplies.

Patrick is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Patrick who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
