Kimhuai's story

Kimhuai lives with her husband and children in a Khmer community in Northeast Thailand. To make a living, her family grows jasmine rice, raises cows, and rears silkworms as well.

Particularly, rearing the silkworms, she learned from her mother since she was young and then initiated and has run the business for more than 5 years. The business is able to generate income about a thousand THB per month, so she desired to expand the silkworm rearing house that it will be helpful for her to increase more silkworm cocoon.

Therefore, she applied for the Kiva loan to buy wood, galvanized iron sheets, and materials for building a silkworm rearing house. The loan will fulfill her dream of expanding the business and will empower the rural woman entrepreneur as well.
