Isata's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 38-year-old Isata from Waterloo branch. She is married, with four children between the ages of 12 and 22 and all of them attend school.

Isata runs a retail business and sells fast food, cigarettes and other assorted items. She started this business to care for her family's welfare and has been running it for the past 20 years. Her other source of income comes from her husband’s salary. Her main challenge is slow sales sometimes during this COVID 19 period.

She has requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase rice, flour, sugar, plantain, oil, maggi, fish, drinks and other assorted items to increase her business.

Isata says that the extra income from this loan will help to improve her business and her family's welfare. In the future, she would like to establish herself on a larger scale. She says thanks to Brac and Kiva for their support.
