A loan helped to purchase drinks, water, and other assorted items to increase her business.

Adama's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 27-year-old Adama from Aberdeen branch. She is married with three children between the ages of 4 and 9 years old; all of the children are attending school. She started this business to be financially stable.

Adama runs a retail shop and sells different kinds of drinks and water by the bundle, as well as other assorted items. She has been in this business for the past 3 years. Her other source of income comes from her husband’s business. Her main challenge is that sometimes her sales are slow during this time of COVID-19.

Adama requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase drinks, water, and other assorted items to increase her business. She says that the extra income from this loan will help to improve her business and take care of her family's welfare and her children’s education. In the future, she would like to establish her business at a larger scale. She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.
