Samol's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for land filling around his house.

Samol's story

Samol is 65 years old, married and has six children. He lives and works in Bakan, the most populous district in Pursat Province. He runs the family business, growing rice and raising poultry at home. He has been involved in agriculture for more than ten years and earns a normal income of 5.00 USD per day. His main challenge is low crop yields caused by insects and inconsistant income because of the fluctuating prices of his products.

Samol has applied for a 4,000,000 KHR loan to pay for land filling around his house. By filling the land, he can provide his family with a good environment, fresh air, protection from illness, and good living conditions.

Samol is very happy and thankful for the Kiva loan program that enables poor people like him to pursue higher living standards!
