Lourdes Monserrate's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy young chickens, corn, balanced feed, and vaccines.

Lourdes Monserrate's story

Lourdes Monserrate is in a common-law marriage. She has two children who are in school. Her partner is a construction worker. They live in their own home.

They live in San Clemente, a fishing village whose economy is relies on fishing, salt extraction, and tourism, as well as crafts such as fishnets and small objects made from shells and snails.

Lourdes Monserrate has a chicken hutch at home where she raises chickens which she offers for sale once they are grown. There is a place in her home where they roam free and are well cared for.

The health crisis was very hard on her at first because she could no longer make her sales and her customers could no longer come to her, but now things are coming back little by little, and she is able to keep making an income.

She will use this new loan to buy young chickens, corn, balanced feed, and vaccines. Her dream is to have a chicken farm, and for her family to remain in very good health.
