A loan helped to buy medical equipment for her doctor's office.

Carmen Lucila's story

Carmen Lucila, 35, is single and is a surgeon. At this time, she has no children, and she lives in the family house. She lives in Crucita, a few minutes from the capital. This is a small fishing town where the main sources of income are fishing, industry, and agriculture.

Carmen Lucila is a doctor with a private practice. She has a medical office where she provides medical care to individuals and charges for her services. She works every day. She used to have a space that she rented, but because of the pandemic she closed her office and is caring for patients in their homes.

During the beginning of the pandemic it was very hard for her, because she was not able to provide medical care. But now, she is gradually reactivating her practice so that she can generate income. In her family, about 10 of her relatives have been infected with Covid-19 and are gradually recovering, except for a cousin who died.

With this new loan, Carmen will buy medical equipment to use in her medical office. Her dream is to have a medical center, and to have her family in good health.
