A loan helped to buy farming inputs which she will use to improve her production and make more income to support her family.

Esther's story

Esther is a 45-year-old mother of one child living in Kerugoya, a town where the main economic activities include agricultural processing, particularly in horticulture and tea. She is a mixed dairy and crop farmer who has farmed for the past five years enabling her be able to support her family.

The major impediment to the development of smallhold farms in Kenya is a lack of short-term credit facilities. Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, is working hard to support smallholder farmers in Kenya through financing therefore guaranteeing their survival.

Esther is seeking this loan to buy farming inputs which she will use to improve her production and make more income to support her family. Support her at this time when the world is focused on combating the Covid-19 pandemic.
