Winny's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase additional poultry, thus being able to satisfy the rising demand in her village.

Winny's story

Winny is a 28-year old mother of two children living in Siongiroi, a town that hosts a number of elite athletes in Kenya. Through hard work and perseverance, she has supported her family in very difficult times. On her farm, Winny rears poultry and grows various crops.

The main challenge facing Winny is the constant perennial shortages of eggs and poultry products in her village and in the local market. She seeks to change this through borrowing a loan and buying more poultry. Winny is seeking a loan from Kiva lenders, via Juhudi Kilimo, to purchase additional poultry.

With this loan, Winny will increase her income through selling eggs, poultry meat, and poultry feathers. The demand for poultry products in her area is very high and through the loan she will be able to satisfy the demand. A loan to her will be vital to achieve food security in her home during this period of global economic recession.
