A loan helped to buy quality seeds and improve her horticultural business that has been significantly affected by Covid-19.

Rusaria's story

Rusaria (a repeat Kiva borrower) is a 45-year-old mother of one child living in Kitale, a town surrounded by prime agricultural lands which favor large-scale grain, sheep, dairy, and horticultural farming. She is a mixed farmer who has farmed for the past 10 years, enabling her to be able to support her family.

Rusaria is seeking this loan to buy quality seeds and improve her horticultural business that has been significantly affected by Covid-19. Juhudi Kilimo’s partnership with Kiva is an effective tool for reducing poverty in Kenya and especially among women, being the central actors in the rural areas.

Rusaria is hopeful for a positive response to her loan request.
