Mele's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy pandanus and mulberry for her business of weaving and tapa making, and also pay for her son's tuition fees.

Mele's story

Meet Mele. She is 42 years old and married to a farmer with seven children. They live together in an old four bedroom house. Mele currently runs two businesses, which is weaving and tapa making. Her daughters give her a hand with her weaving business, where they spend most of the night weaving together, and they finish up mats and taovala faster. Sometimes Mele just start the taovala and her daughters finish it.

Mele also joins a group of women in their village, and together they make tapas, once in every week. Mele sells her weaving and tapas at the local market, but mostly overseas. She has trusted customers overseas, where they are very interested in her work and always help her out with her sales.

Not only that, Mele is a good mother to her children and she is also a good leader in the center that she joined. She is hoping to use her loan money to buy pandanus and mulberry and also pay for her son's tuition fees. All Mele always dreams about is a new big house for her big family. She is planning on renovating their house and build a new home.
