Dorennys Maria's story

Dorennys Maria, 44, is a microentrepreneur living in Puerto Colombia, Atlantico, along with her spouse and two children. Her main activity is retailing groceries, food, and beverages. In addition, she offers miscellaneous services such as internet services, printing, and photocopying. She has more than 17 years of experience at this activity.

Her business was born out of the need to earn income that would help her cover some expenses. At her store she has refrigerators, display cases, and shelves in which she stores and displays the merchandise in public view. Her clients are neighbors, relatives, students, and schools. Due to the Covid -19 pandemic that occurred worldwide, her level of work deteriorated due to biosafety issues and her income decreased dramatically.

She is currently on her first loan with the Mario Santo Domingo Foundation in order to invest in the purchase of a greater number of chargers and usb cables for cell phones, notebooks, reams of paper, rubber bands, scissors, staplers, folders, cardboard, general stationery, display case and two shelves.
