Grace's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more bags of rice and maize.

Grace's story

Grace is a 25-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her husband and child in the Phalombe district in Malawi. She is an elected chairperson for CAMFED Association in her district. Grace sells maize, rice and groundnuts. With her first Kiva loan, Grace expanded her business from only selling maize to selling the three items. She used the profit she earned to assist needy students with school materials and improve the livelihood of her family. Grace is requesting a second loan in order to buy more bags of rice and maize. She plans to use the profit she earns to support the elderly and assist needy students with basic school needs. Grace will repay the ‘social interest’ on her second loan by volunteering 2.5 hours per week as a member of the CAMFED alumnae association, supporting the CAMFED Association community by organizing and leading CAMFED Association meetings and activities.
