A loan helped to build a household latrine and buy necessary related items.

Rotna's story

Rotna is 33 years old and a farmer from a rural village in Rokhak Kiri District, Batambong Province. He lives with his wife, who is also a farmer, and his three single children, who are attending school. To take care of their needs, he is involved in the cultivation of rice and sells it at the local markets. Farming is the major source of his family’s income, and Rotna has been doing this for more 3 years, with constant support from his wife and children.

Since he doesn't have a safe latrine for use at home, he is unable to help his family members improve their sanitation and personal hygiene. For this reason, he has requested a loan of KHR 4,000,000 to build a household latrine and buy necessary related items. Thanks to a water loan program with a special interest rate, he is encouraged to focus on healthy living conditions, safeguard the health of his family and protect the environment.
