Julius's story

Julius is 36 years old and lives in the town of Nebbi, which is in the Nebbi region of Uganda. He is married and has four children who are currently in school. For the past eight years, he has been working hard at managing his retail business where he sells plastic goods such as cups, plates, trays, flasks, and baskets.

To expand his business, Julius has requested a loan of 3,000,000 UGX from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more plastic goods to sell such as cups, plates, flasks, and trays. Julius will be able to generate more profit and expand his business. As a result, he will be able to meet the basic needs of his home and improve his family’s standard of living. In the future, Julius hopes to finish the construction of his house.

Julius is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Julius who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but whose businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
