Irma's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy flour, cheese, and a much bigger freezer.

Irma's story

Irma, 78, is a small-businesswoman who lives in the city of Barranquilla with her husband. She has a business making and selling prepared food, frozen cheese sticks, empanadas, fried kibbeh, and other items that her customers request. She has 3 years of experience working in her business. She started the business because she always wanted to be her own boss and have a business that would bear daily fruit so that the business could grow and she would have credibility with people in the neighborhood. Thanks to the help of her children, she has found more customers. Her customers are mainly neighbors and relatives in the area.

Due to the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic, her business activity dropped due to biosecurity issues, and her income fell dramatically. Now, she is requesting her first loan with Kiva and the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo to invest in flour, cheese, and a much larger freezer. Support her with a loan for her business!
