Sauda's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase more shampoo, braids and threads to use during hairdressing.

Sauda's story

Sauda is 37 years old and lives in the town of Paidah in the Nebbi region of Uganda. She is married and has 4 children, 2 of whom are currently in school. For the past 4 years, Sauda has been working hard to manage her beauty salon, which does hairdressing.

To help expand her business, Sauda has requested a loan of 4,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more shampoo, braids and threads to use during hairdressing. This will help Sauda to generate greater profits that she can use to provide her children with food and clothes, as well as to pay their school fees. In the future, Sauda hopes that she will be able to build a residential house for her family.

Sauda is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Sauda who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
