Charles's story

Charles is 48 years old and lives in the town of Paidha in the Nebbi region of Uganda. He is Married and has 4 children who are all currently in school. For the past 6 years, Charles has been working hard to manage her Boutique, which sells all kinds of adult clothes .

To help expand his business, Charles has requested a loan of 3000000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase tops,trousers and skirts for sale, and will help Charles to generate greater profits and manage to pay some of the house bills, basic needs for the family and pay school fees for his child. Charles hopes that in the future he will be able to expand his business into a whole sale shop.

Charles is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Charles who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
