Denis's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase more sacks of sugar, salt, and maize flour.

Denis's story

Denis is 33 years old and lives in the town of Pakwach in the Nebbi region of Uganda. He is married and has three children with two of them currently in school. For the past 6 years, Denis has been working hard to manage his retail shop, which sells essential items like sugar, salt, and cooking oil. He also does mobile money transactions.

To help expand his business, Denis has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more sacks of sugar, salt, maize flour, and soft drinks for resale, and will help Denis to generate greater profits, boost his business and improve his family's standard of living. Denis hopes that in the future he will be able to complete his permanent building in the center.

Denis is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Denis who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
