Sharon Mary's story
Sharon Mary is 22 years old and lives in the town of Kajjansi in the Abaita Ababiri region of Uganda. For the past 3 years, Sharon Mary has been working hard to manage her Shoes sells, which sells sandals and shoes. To help expand her business, Sharon Mary has requested a loan of 1400000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more sandals and shoes for sell, and will help Sharon Mary to generate greater profits and Sharon Mary will be in position to afford basic needs,improve on her standards of living and pay different home bills,for from the increased profits and expanded business.Sharon Mary hopes that in the future she will be able to open up a big shoe shop. Sharon Mary is a member of BRAC's Empowerment and Livelihood for Adolescents (ELA) program. In addition to microfinance loans, the program provides both a safe place for young Ugandan women to take part in group activities, and a forum for life-skills training.
