A loan helped to buy provisions and ingredients to continue making her delicious dishes.

Jahaira Jasmin's story

"Jahaira Jasmin is in a common-law relationship. She has a minor son. Her partner's an employee in a hotel in the city. They live in their own home. They live in Manta, which was affected by the 16 April 2016 earthquake, with buildings, trade, and many lives lost. It's considered the most important ocean resort, with beautiful and welcoming beaches. Most of the people there work in fishing.

Jahaira Jasmin used to sell clothing but she decided to change jobs so she could make delicious "encebollados" (a traditional Ecuadorian soup make with fresh albacore or tuna, yuca, onions, tomato, cilantro, and seasoning). It's served with a "curtido" [slaw] made of onion, tomato, fried plantain, and hot pepper or hot sauce to taste. She also makes burgers. She serves customers on the weekends.

It was very bad for her at the beginning of the pandemic because she couldn't make sales, but she's reactivating her business little by little now by making home deliveries, so she can continue earning her income.

With this new loan she's going to buy provisions and ingredients to continue making her delicious dishes.

Her dream is to have a big eatery to continue serving her customers and for her family to be very healthy.
