01_Randoulene Sud Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for the ingredients to make fruit juices to resell.

01_Randoulene Sud Group's story

This group, composed of three good and honest women, is part of the 'banc villageois' set up in the area in May 2009. The women are from the same neighborhood and keep up very good social and professional ties. They often take out loans and have already paid back several of them on time. Their main work is in commerce.

Ms. Fatou, at the right in the photo with a hand raised, is the group’s representative. She is 34, married, and the mother of three children, including a girl, who are all in school. Ms. Fatou runs a business selling fruit juices; she purchases the necessary ingredients in bulk from major merchants to resell at the market. She has over ten years of experience in this domain.

With this loan, she is going to purchase sacks of monkey bread [the fruit of the baobab tree], oseille [dried hibiscus flowers], sugar, and various ingredients for making juice drinks the right way. She sells her products without a problem, since she has a loyal customer base.

The earnings enable her to bolster her savings, to help her husband in covering family expenses, and to pay the children’s school fees.
