A loan helped to build a safe latrine at home.

Chea's story

Chea, aged 44, is an experienced construction worker from a rural village in the Chi Kraeng district, Siem Reap province. She has been in the construction business for more than three years and also works as a paid laborer for additional income. She has a common law relationship with her husband, who is the loving father of four children. Together, they can earn around USD 8.00 per day to support members of their family.

Currently, Chea is requesting a loan to build a safe latrine at home. In this way, she hopes to increase the value of her home and to improve sanitation. The water loan program offered by HKL with a special interest rate has helped to encourage her to focus on ensuring healthy living conditions to safeguard her family's health and to protect the environment.

Chea wants to be more successful in her family-owned businesses and to earn a good income to meet her daily living needs.
