Ubuzima Group's story

Mrs. Francoise is a client of the Hekima MFI and is the leader of the business group « Ubuzima ». She is a 40 year old married woman and has 15 children, 8 of whom are in school and 7 are self-sufficient. Her partner is an aid worker. She sells food products and started this business 29 years ago with start-up funds that she received from her husband. Later on, she used the Hekima program to support her business which has developed progressively.

With this new loan, she will buy 15 sacks of beans to consolidate her initial capital. The challenge she faces in her business is the foreign exchange rate.

She wants her children to continue their schooling and to be able to feed her family. She wishes to thank Hekima and its partners for the support they provide to business owners who cannot access bank funding in this context of global crisis resulting from Covid-19. The picture only shows the leader of the group as a result of Covid-19 concerns.
