Hajra's Group's story
Hajra, a resident of Borewala (famous for its shrines) Pakistan, is the wife of S. S. and owns a small two-room house where she has been living with her family for over 40 years. A very talented lady, Hajra operates a paranda-making business, an enterprise that helps support her family. (A paranda is used to tie back hair as part of an ornament.) Her husband runs a tailoring center, his stitching famous in the community. He learned this skill at the age of 12 and started his own business 10 years ago.
Hajra is now applying for her second loan from Asasah so her husband can purchase an electric sewing machine that will increase his business efficiency.
Note: In this picture Hajra is showing her paranda.
