Pa Khoang 40 Group's story

Getting married very young, Mrs. Thoan, 33, has two girls at the ages of 12 and 6. She lives with her husband and her family in small house in the northwest mountains of Vietnam, where agriculture is the main income-generating activity.

Mrs. Thoan has been a farmer since she was a very little and has tried so hard to provide for the family, especially to give the best education to her children. She doesn’t want her children to go through as many hardships as her; she dropped out of school in middle grade.

Wishing to escape poverty, Mrs. Thoan decided to expand her fish raising model by buying more fingerlings.

To have enough capital to do it, Mrs. Thoan has taken out a loan from Anh Chi Em program. Thoan hopes this investment will be as successful as the previous times.

Mrs. Thoan dreams that she will be able to send her children to a good college. Then they will have a good future and escape from poverty.

In the picture, she stands at the first from the right.
