Bicoty's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped a mom to buy cereals such as beans and corn to sell and use the profits to support her children.

Bicoty's story

Bicoty (39) feels happy to be a part of Kiva. She is a mother who truly adores her 4 school-going children for whom she has had to go through many adversities in her life. She lives in Bomet, a countryside endowed with natural streams.

Bicoty grows crops and raises dairy cows on her farm. As a result of the fluctuation in prices for crops and the change in industrial trends, Bicoty has sought a way to improve her income. She has decided to start selling cereals in her local market. However, with her scant savings, she is unable to buy different varieties of them. Her irregular income and lack of collateral are her main drawbacks to accessing a loan in commercial banks.

So Bicoty has applied for a loan through Kiva's field partner Juhudi Kilimo to buy cereals such as corn and beans to sell in the marketplace. Her family will benefit from this loan since it will elevate their standard of living.

This loan is an opportunity that Bicoty never had before. Thanks to Juhudi Kilimo and Kiva, the lives of Bicoty and her family will be changed.
