Fea's story

Fea is a 45-year-old mother with 4 children and a husband who is a farmer. They live at their own home, in the Eastern side of Tongatapu.

Fea runs a business of tapa making, and she is a member of a tapa group of women in their village. They gather once a week and make tapas. She sells her tapas at the local market and also to her relatives overseas. She is very committed to her business, and her family benefits from it.

Fea applied for a loan to buy mulberry and other materials that are needed for her business like clay, mangrove liquids and flour. Her dream is to lift the standard of living of her family from poverty into a new stage of life.
