A loan helped to buy iron and timber for renovating their roof.

Asi's story

Asi is a 37-year-old mother of seven children. Her husband is a fisherman, and they live at their own home. Asi and her husband run a business of making kiekie and selling fish. She makes kiekie from raw materials such as hibiscus and coconut fiber, and sells it out at the local marker every week. She makes approximately she five to six kiekie in a week, and the price depends on the kiekie's size and materials made.

Asi also sells out the catch her husband makes from his fishing everyday from their own front yard, for they are locating along the main road. Her business runs very well and her children benefit from her business.

In April, T.C Harold hit Tonga and caused major damage to Asi's house. More than half of the roof was blown off and it caused a flood in the house. Therefore Asi applies for a revitalization loan from the SPBD to buy new iron and timber to fix their roof.

She dreams of a stable life for her family, and she will persevere to conquer her dream.
