A loan helped to buy mulberry for her tapa making and also some iron to repair her roof.

Malia's story

Malia is a 39-year-old mother of four children. Her husband is a farmer, and they live in their own home. Malia joined a group of women in their village, and together they make tapas, but it only occurs once in every week. She sells her tapas to her relatives who reside overseas. She has been running her business for many years now, and her family also benefits from her business.

In April, a cyclone visited Tonga islands, and it caused damage to many houses and businesses. Malia's house was also affected. Some of the roof was blown off, and her raw mulberry were wet and ruined, causing great loss to her business. She applies for a revitalization loan to buy mulberry in order to sustain her business and also buy some iron to repair the roof. Her vision is to continue running her business to earn enough money for renovating her house.
