Kalisi's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy new iron and timber in order to repair her cyclone-damaged roof.

Kalisi's story

Kalisi is a 26-year-old mother of two. Her husband is a farmer, and they live together with her parents at her parents' house on the island of Vava'u. Currently, she is running a weaving business, and her mother joins her for weaving. Weaving is their everyday chore. The only weave mats with brown pandanus, then sell them at the local market and also overseas. Her business runs very well and she does not need to hire women to help her because her mother's help is enough.

In April, Tropical Cyclone Harold hit Tonga, and it affected many homes, including Kalisi's house. Some of the iron was blown off and a huge branch fell on their roof. Kalisi applies for a loan to buy new iron and timber in order to repair their damaged roof. She cares about the safety of her family. She will use her loan money to buy the materials for repair so she can use her own business money to buy pandanus and maintain her business.
