Taifua's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy pandanus for her weaving and also repair some damage in her home caused by the cyclone.

Taifua's story

This lady is full of life. She is 81 years old, and she still manages to run her business very well. Her name is Taifua and she is a single mother of four adults. She also has great-grandchildren, and she spends some time with them. She lives at her daughter's house.

Taifua is a weaver, and she weaves taovala and mats then sells them to earn money. For many years, she raised her four children on her own, provided for them and paid for their education with her weaving business. Now that they are all settled with their own families, she still maintains her business and makes her own money.

Her business is running very well. She is a sole weaver, and she also hires three women to weave for her. Not all of her weaving is for sale. She sells some and keeps some for her children and their families.

Taifua applies for a loan to buy pandanus for her weaving and also fix some minor damage in her house caused by cyclone Harold.
