A loan helped to buy assorted groceries for her store.

Evangeline's story

Evangeline is from Concepcion, Iloilo. She is married and a mother of two children. To earn an income, she runs a sari-sari (variety) store, selling basic commodities. She has been in this business for many years. Meanwhile, her husband works as a fisherman to provide for their family’s needs.

Now, she asks for a loan of PHP 18,000 through Kiva’s field partner, CEVI (a microfinance NGO), in the Philippines, which she will use to buy assorted groceries for her store.

Evangeline wants to improve this livelihood in the future for her children’s education. She dreams for them to finish their studies.
