Priscilla's story

As a teenage mother, raised in East Los Angeles and working since I was 15 years old, I have always found a way to show my entrepreneurial ways. From buying at rummages at 16 years old and selling at a profit to make ends meet for my family to baking cakes from home. Making income was never a problem it just took some elbow grease. I have always tried to set an example for my children to see what its like to work hard for your money. My motivation comes from being raised in an atmosphere of government assistance and being codependent of others. I vowed to always work hard for my income and instill these values into my children. In order to do that I had to move cities. In 2005, I moved from Los Angeles to Milwaukee, WI to be able to provide my children the ability to flourish and give them an opportunity I didn't have. I'm proud to say, my eldest is a college graduate with a degree in Biomedical Sciences. My second eldest is pursing her degree in Psychology with an anticipated graduation date of 2022.
