A loan helped to buy sheep and goats for resale.

Gpf Book Khol Medina Ndawéne Group's story

Ms. Oumy is the woman in the photo with the goat. She is the president of the GPF group "BOOK KHOL MEDINA NDAWENE" which means "To have the same objectives" in Wolof. She is 48 years old, married to a farmer and mother of 2 children between the age of 15 and 17, all in school. She has been farming for more than 10 years. This loan is intended for all nineteen members of the group who are all women.
Ms. Oumy borrows money to buy sheep, feed and vaccines.
She buys her goats and sheep at the local market to sell during the holidays at the local weekly markets and in the surrounding villages
The income she earns allows her to take care of the family's needs (health, food, education, hygiene, etc.).
She borrowed money to strengthen her business, increase her income and diversify her products.
The main difficulty she encounters is cattle theft.
Her wish is to have a very large herd but also to be among the largest livestock suppliers in her area.
