Book Diom De Kahone Group's story

Mrs. Dabel is the president of the group "Book Diom de Kakhone", which translates from the Wolof language as "Having the Same Ambitions". She works in the poultry-raising sector, as do all the other members of the group. In total, this group is comprised of ten people, eight women and two men.

Mrs. Dabel is 51 years old and is married to a teacher. She looks after six children between the ages of 1 and 16, three of whom attend school. The youngest child is her grandson.

She has been employed raising poultry for around 8 years. This loan will enable her to buy chicks and chicken feed as well as to pay for their vaccines. The goal is to further develop her poultry raising business and increase her profit. Mrs. Dabel sells her chickens in the weekly markets in her area and sometimes at home.

The resulting revenue will enable her to take care of her family's needs, especially the education, healthcare, and food for her children. She has not encountered many difficulties with her business, with the exception of one small loss of three chicks. Mrs. Dabel hopes to increase the size of her poultry raising operation and become financially independent.
