La Esperanza Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy cookies, rice, vegetables, charcoal, beverages, soap, sponges, milk, eggs, etc.

La Esperanza Group's story

The group called La Esperanza formed from the union of friends and neighbors from the city of Luque who are looking for ways to improve their quality of life and that of their loved ones. They're in their sixteenth loan cycle in the women's bank program.

One of them is Silvina. She has a general store where she works every day from very early in the morning. After the pandemic, she started to do food fairs in the front of her store because her business was affected by the total quarantine order from Covid-19 and she couldn't work normally. She says she had to reinvent herself so she could get ahead and help her family.

She's requesting this loan to be able to invest some capital in her business and stock her store with cookies, rice, vegetables, charcoal, beverages, soap, sponges, milk, eggs, etc.

Note: There's only one person in the photo but this is a group loan. A group photo wasn't possible because of social distancing during the Covid-19 pandemic.
