Atuwezeshe Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to stock up on 20 pieces of pagnes, which will build up her initial capital.

Atuwezeshe Group's story

Immaculee is a client of the Hekima microfinance institution and presides over the Atuwezeshe banque villageoise. She is married, 50 years old, and the mother of four children, who are all in school. Her partner is a minister.

She sells clothing. She started this business in 1998 with startup capital she received from her husband. Later she started the Hekima program to support her business, during which she gradually progressed. With this new loan, she will stock up on 20 pieces of pagnes [traditional, colorful cloth used as garments], which will build up her initial capital. The challenge of her business is linked to unpaid debts. She would like for her children continue to study.

Finally, she would like to thank Hekima and its partners for the support they bring to owners of unbanked businesses in the context of the global crisis related to COVID-19. The photo is only of the leader of the group, due to COVID-19.
