Jacinta's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more tomatoes from other smallholder farmers to sell in the market in order to increase her family's income.

Jacinta's story

Jacinta is a 39-year-old Mozambican woman. She lives in Chimoio with her three children.

Jacinta is a well-known producer in her community. She buys vegetables such as tomatoes and cabbage from a large number of smallholder farmers in her community. The farmers thank her a lot since she is the one who motivates them to produce because they know they have a good market with Jacinta.

Thanks to this business, Jacinta is able to provide schooling to her children as well as job opportunities for young people in her community.

Jacinta has a good market that continuously demands more and more crops. On one hand, this is good for Jacinta, but, on the other hand, she faces the challenge of not having enough money to buy more crops to supply to her clients.

For this reason, Jacinta is requesting a Kiva loan to buy more tomatoes from other smallholder farmers to sell in the market in order to increase her family's income.
