01_Kys Group's story

This group, which was started in the village in April 2010, consists of seventeen woman who live together and have good relationships. Their main business is farming and retail. They have paid back over 10 loans.

Mrs. Nogoye, who is 41 years old, is the leader of the group. She is standing on the right hand side of the picture with her hand raised. She is married and the mother of five children including two girls, and three of the children are still in school.

Mrs. Nogoye raises sheep and in addition sells various products. She operates in the village and has several years of experience in these two businesses.

With this new loan, she will buy 4 sheep and animal feed. She will fatten the animals and will resell them 3 or 4 months later. She has no difficulty selling her sheep because of her experience. She will use the profits from her sales to increase her savings, to meet her children's modest expenses, and to consolidate her retail business.
